Veterans Employment Base Camp and Organic Garden is partnering with NC Works Craven for the 2026 Women Veterans and Active-Duty Outreach and Appreciation Luncheon on June 19, 2026! The resource event will be held from 0830 to 1130 with the luncheon starting promptly at 12:00. The luncheon is sold out and we have a great speaker from MCAS Cherry Point that I am sure you will enjoy! (We do still have 5 purchased tickets for active duty females to attend).
Women Veterans Day is observed on June 12 in the United States, a date chosen to mark the anniversary of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act. The Women's Armed Services Integration Act enacted June 12, 1948, is a United States law that enabled women to serve as permanent, regular members of the armed forces in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force. Prior to this act, women, with the exception of nurses, served in the military only in times of war.
The event is being held at Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County, 203 South Front Street, 2ND FLOOR, New Bern, NC 28560, the outreach portion of the event provides resources from 10 agencies for active duty and retired women of all branches of the service. We would ask that you share the event as widely as possible so that the resources that they are bringing to the event will assist the active duty females and women veterans we are trying to serve.
*For those that are attending and have been issued a table the event will be located on the second floor and because there are only 10 tables it will be first come first serve. You will be provided one 8 ft. table and two chairs. We will not be able to provide electricity. We will be providing 2 tickets to the Resource providers for the luncheon after the resource event which will be catered by The Flame. Please try to be on site by 0800 and set up by 0830 so that you are ready to go. Thanks for all that you do!
